"Scotty's were able to support children through the additional pressures of lockdown when their regular and reassuring routines had disappeared."
Wellbeing For Bereaved Forces Children
Scotty’s Little Soldiers received £2,600 to support 26 bereaved British Forces children across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Scotty’s helps children by building their self-confidence, enabling them to make new friends and helped them to get through lockdown by getting involved in exciting and fun online activities such as quizzes, music and singing.
The organisation was able to support children through the additional pressures of lockdown when their regular and reassuring routines had disappeared, while they were already trying to cope with the emotional upheaval of losing a parent. Scotty’s celebrate important occasions in the children’s lives with birthday and Christmas presents, while remembering and sharing in the anniversary of their parent’s death. The video shows the children taking part in a singing session during the first Coronavirus lockdown.
