"It has been absolutely fantastic. We started off with soup, then we did risotto, quiche, then roulade, beef bourguignon, curry, and then apple pie. I haven’t eaten my apple pie as I put it in the freezer to share with my study group."

Kenwood Addressing Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing
The Kenwood Community Fund addresses health, nutrition and wellbeing issues in local communities and a grant of £7,500 has been awarded to Rowan’s Hospice to enable cookery courses for bereaved partners to take place in the Havant area. The course demonstrates how to cook smaller meal portions, learn new recipes and importantly provides an opportunity for people to meet others in the study group that are also experiencing bereavement and loss.

Kenwood Making a Difference
“My husband was my carer for 14 years and he wouldn’t let me do a thing. He said to me this isn’t fair, I said what isn’t fair? And he said, I shouldn’t be going before you. He was so upset that he was leaving me to care for myself. But now coming here, it has meant more than cooking, it has meant caring for yourself. It has brought me back to life and given me a real interest again.”
