Food and Medicine for those in need

A grant to Communities First Wessex operating from Leigh Park’s Community Centre in Havant is supporting vulnerable residents across Hampshire.

The grant means that the team of 775 volunteers can help to provide food and medicine and shop for essential food items for those discharged from hospital.

Foodbanks helped those able to leave their home during lockdown, while community kitchens cooked and delivered hot meals for those self-isolating at home.

A team of community trained minibus drivers have been supporting residents in rural communities.

It’s at times like these that we are reminded that community really matters, and being able to respond swiftly to local needs is a key value for the Foundation.
