HIWCF was pleased to work with the European Union on the two year Solent Community Grant Programme, enabling the Foundation to reach and work with individuals with complex barriers to employment, enabling them to move closer or into employment.
The programme was part-funded by the European Social Fund and was created by the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership.
The programme was also supported by Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) fund holders.
The programme was a result of the call issued by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to commission ESF funded projects that provide grants to support organisations who are able to reach and work with individuals with complex barriers to employment, enabling them to move closer or into employment.
The fund provided grants of £10,000 to £30,000 to organisations working in the Solent LEP area for projects lasting up to 1 year.
